Excited and anxious, we began shooting at Redwood Chapel. The funeral home had a distinct emanation, perhaps because of its smell, or perhaps simply because we knew what had happened there. Each day had its ups-and-downs, from the two (small) fires we set on Friday when a light enflamed a gel, to the melodramatic reaction shot of our extras reacting to a broken vase at a funeral, production was far from perfect. But we all loved the time on set. There is truly no better bonding experience than to spend a day together in a funeral home shooting a movie. I recommend everyone put it on their bucket list.
